Booking and paying
How do I pay? Is it safe?
By card, on Tilopay's secure page. Your card details go straight to Tilopay: they never pass through Lapa.
What if a service says “To be quoted”?
Send us your request and the team sends you the quote with the total, before charging anything. In the app you get an update and pay it from the booking, on Tilopay's secure page.
Can I cancel?
Yes. You can cancel bookings in the app, and requests too until they're completed. Cancellation is free up to 24–48 h before the start, depending on the service. After that, get in touch and we'll see how we can help.
Vehicles
How much is the security deposit?
Honda ATV 520: USD 300. Ford Edge 2023: USD 500. Golf cart: USD 200. You see it with the total before you book, and the team explains how it's handled when you get the vehicle.
Can I drive on the beach?
No. Driving on the sand is prohibited in Costa Rica, and the agreement prohibits it too. Leave the vehicle at the beach access.
How long can I rent for?
Honda ATV 520: by the hour, by the half day, by the day and by the week. Ford Edge 2023: by the day and by the week. Golf cart: by the day and by the week.
How far ahead do I need to book?
At least 2 h ahead: Honda ATV 520 and Golf cart. At least 12 h ahead: Ford Edge 2023.
Transfers
How much is a transfer?
Airport transfer Liberia (LIR) - Nosara: USD 150 per trip. Town & beach shuttle: included. The price is per trip, not per person.
How many people fit?
Up to 4 passengers: Airport transfer Liberia (LIR) - Nosara and Town & beach shuttle. For larger groups, get in touch and we'll arrange it.
What if my flight time changes?
Get in touch as soon as you know and we'll arrange the pick-up with you. That's why it helps to add your flight number to the booking.
Do you do other routes?
Yes, with a quote. Get in touch with where from, where to, the date and how many are traveling, and we'll send you a quote. Nothing is charged until you accept it.
How much do they cost and what's included?
Surf lesson at Playa Guiones: USD 65 per person, 2 h. 2 h group lesson, board and rash guard included. Ostional turtle tour: USD 55 per person, 3 h. Guided visit to the Ostional refuge, transport included.
How many people can join?
Each departure has its own number of spots. Tell us how many of you there are when you book or request a date, and we'll confirm your spots.
Are we sure to see turtles?
It can't be guaranteed: arribadas happen a few days every month with no fixed date. Get in touch and we'll tell you what to expect on your dates.
Do I need experience for the surf lesson?
Guiones is a good beach to learn on. If you're unsure about your level, get in touch before booking and we'll help you decide.
Villa services
Which villa services are included with my stay?
Villa cleaning, Maintenance request and Other request are free of charge. Ask for them whenever you need them.
Which services have a price?
Grocery delivery: USD 25. We shop and deliver; groceries billed separately. In-villa massage: USD 90. 60 min massage by a certified therapist.
How far ahead do I need to ask?
At least 2 h ahead, for every service.
What are your hours?
The concierge is available 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Costa Rica time. You can send your request whenever you like.
The app
Do I need the app to book?
No. Choose on the website and send us your request. We'll write to you to confirm availability and explain how to pay and, for a vehicle, how to send your documents and sign the agreement.
Does the app keep my card details?
No. You pay on Tilopay's secure page and your card details never pass through Lapa.
Why does it ask for documents?
Only for vehicle rentals (Honda ATV 520, Ford Edge 2023 and Golf cart): a driver's license and your passport or Costa Rican ID, either one is enough. Nothing is needed for any other service.
How do I get to Nosara from Liberia airport?
By road, in about 2.5 h. With a private transfer you go from the airport to your villa without having to find the way: the details are on the transfer page.
When is the best time to come?
It depends on what you're after: the dry season runs from December to April and the green one from May to November. The year, month by month, is in the Seasons chapter.
Where can I see the turtles?
At Ostional, north of Nosara, where a few days each month thousands of olive ridley turtles come out of the sea to nest. Visits are only with a local guide, as we explain on the wildlife page.
What time does the sun set?
Between 5:15 and 6:10 PM, depending on the month, Costa Rica time. Plan to head back in daylight: the roads have no street lights.
