What a local would tell you
Driving in Nosara is part of the experience. These tips save you surprises.
Dirt roads
Most of Nosara is dirt road: dusty in the dry season, mud and puddles in the green one. Drive slowly, especially near homes and people walking.
The beach isn't a road
Driving on the sand isn't allowed in Costa Rica. Leave the vehicle at the beach access and walk the last bit.
Helmets, always
On the ATV a helmet is required for the driver and the passenger. They're included.
Better by daylight
Roads have no street lights. Plan to be back before dark: the sun sets between 5:15 PM and 6:10 PM, depending on the month.
Deposit up front
Each vehicle has a security deposit (USD 200 – USD 500). You see it with the total before you book.

What do I need to rent?
A valid driver's license, your passport or Costa Rican ID, and the signed rental agreement. We'll write to you to confirm availability and explain how to send your documents and sign the agreement.
How long can I rent for?
Honda ATV 520: by the hour, by the half day, by the day and by the week. Ford Edge 2023: by the day and by the week. Golf cart: by the day and by the week.
How much is the security deposit?
Honda ATV 520: USD 300. Ford Edge 2023: USD 500. Golf cart: USD 200. You see it with the total before you book, and the team explains how it's handled when you get the vehicle.
Can I cancel?
Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start (Honda ATV 520 and Golf cart). Free cancellation up to 48 h before the start (Ford Edge 2023). After that, get in touch and we'll see how we can help.
How far ahead do I need to book?
At least 2 h ahead: Honda ATV 520 and Golf cart. At least 12 h ahead: Ford Edge 2023.
Can I drive on the beach?
No. Driving on the sand is prohibited in Costa Rica, and the agreement prohibits it too. Leave the vehicle at the beach access.
Can I sign the agreement before paying?
In the app, yes: the booking shows both steps and you can do them in any order. In the meantime, we'll explain how to sign it when we confirm. The vehicle is handed over once the payment is confirmed, the documents approved and the agreement signed.
